Exodus

Bill's epochal '59 Chevy Impala was a remarkable, and high-effort, custom car. Never one to shy away from hard work, Cushenbery prepared canted headlight/taillight car. Though not an entirely successful design (the factory incut on the sides of the left fenders and the roof fins interrupt the smooth lines of the car, this vehicle set the custom world afire.

Like most other custom cars from the early Sixties, the car fell into disrepair and was reportedly sent to Hawaii where it expired and was crushed. However, those early reports were mistaken, and the car is being restored presently.

Check out this photo supplied by custom car afficionado Gary Minor!

It's clear that the car has suffered through the years. The interior is obviously very dirty, and the bodywork has spotty rust in many places. Remarkably, it appears that there is a Class-C trailer hitch attached to the car! Whatever its condition, the Exodus survives!  Gary Minor. Mark S.
