Wild Brazilian Custom!
Submitted to the Custom Clinic by Luis Tinoco

The owner of the '59 Bel Air custom is the former Formula 1 driver and CART driver Tarso Marques. I donīt have much info on the car, but it took three years of hard work and a good amount of money.

The engine and transmission came from a Corvette ZR1 with a nitrous oxide kit. It seems that Brazilians donīt have the notion that customs are not high perf cars. The wheels are 20" monsters and the car has a device, with controls in the dash, that lift and lower the car.

The body work was made in Curitiba, capital of Parana state, South of Brazil. The top was chopped 8 inches and the windshield is split like cars of the forties. The top looks like something taken from a early fifties Chevy. I donīt like the A post. Way too thick...

If you use the Tarso Marques car in your site, tell me. Iīll love to see it. Imagine, a Brazilian custom in the Custom Clinic!

Well, Luis here it is! - Ed.
