Entry Model Type: Ultra Custom Concept Show Car

Model Car Scale: 1/25

Model Name: "Virtue RSX " (Radical Sports Experimental)

Model Features: This model is entirely scratch built from polyester resin, Fiberglass, UC 40, Brass, Copper, Aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and resin material. Every part has been designed and constructed including wheels and tires. ( Yes entirely scratchbuilt )

Instructions for Judges: Please be aware of the following items:

1. The model must be supported from under the car frame, it is very heavy. 

2. With its 1280 pieces, it all just added up. Never lay the model on its top or sides; it could damage the car.

3. Careful around windows, they are about scale thickness, and with the weight of the model, serious damage could occur.

4. A stand has been provided, which will allow unrestricted view the Chassis & Underside. 

5. Please be careful with the doors, hood and lift gate. Do not "over open) any swing components.

6. Please be careful when reaching across the model. The hood and doors open quite wide, and the top corners could be damaged if caution is not used. 

7. At the time I am writing this I am very tired, working all night long for several days. Please excuse any mistakes in this "Letter to the Judges". Thank You, for the opportunity to enter this contest.

Model Purpose: To create a 1/25-scale model car with a new practical automotive design expression. I created this Ultra Custom Concept Show Car, with personal styling, to be somewhat of a cross between a (Factory "Concept Car"), and an (All Out " Riddler") type Custom Show Car. Artistic liberties were taken, in the form of the dash chrome defroster and Bose speakers, to leave them chrome for the "All-Out-Custom Show Car" purposes.  The factory version would be a lighter grey. 

I.   Body Features:

a. The Body, along with over 20 body parts are all scratch built. Masters and molds were made for each part. I created the body by making a clay model master, to dimensionally to exact tolerances. A series of molds were made for the body ( See photos)

b. The Body is a personal design created originally in sketches. (See rendering)

c. The feature lines on the hood sweep up and terminate at the rear view mirrors

d. The chrome headlight frames and window frame assemblies are hand made copper. The headlight frames were then chrome plated, the windshield frame simulates graphite material.

e. The model sports a "Clam Shell "hood with a detailed hood inner. The entire assembly tilts fwd via gas struts. This minimizes the vertical size of the front fenders

f. The roof is designed long to accommodate a unique engine compartment.

g. Door design includes normal swing doors with aircraft door headers. The doors swing on actual hinges, the same as full size car. ( see detail )

h. The taillight panel is functional with reflective back and actual tail light bulbs (a hidden magnetic switch is under the dash- please contact me and I will turn them on for you.

II. Engine: Powered by a fully detailed Twin Turbo-Charged Small Block V8. This includes fuel injectors, fuel lines, Twin Turbo-chargers, mufflers, alternator, air conditioner, HEI ignition, dip stick, etc.

III. Paint: The paint includes a "Virtue Red" paint. The body and all parts are painted and detailed inside out. ( see pictures of frame and detail.)

IV. Interior: The interior is completely designed and fabricated with inlaid handles, fabric, wood detail, defroster grate, asymmetrical "Bose" stereo speakers in the dash and door inners.

V.  Detail: Custom design working cantilever 4-wheel independent suspension, 4-center mounted coil over shocks, sway bars front and rear, working rack & pinion steering, dual oil filters &engine oil cooler, transmission cooler, coolant radiators, fittings on hoses, brake lines, brake calipers and rotors, brake line tabs to frame, louvered engine lid, fresh air box, windshield wipers, inlaid door handles, body mounts, opening doors, hood, rear engine compartment, inlaid aircraft fuel filler, a " Manufacturer" license plate, sun visors, close circuit rearview monitor, billet aluminum column.

This car was originally designed and sketched for basic dimensions. The body and all parts were designed and built by Bruce Owen.

In Summary: I hope you enjoy this model of my "Ultra Custom Concept Show Car". It was a long journey to "Live the Dream", and bring it to life!
