Dear Dream Truck Enthusiast:
I am pleased to tell you that the Dream Truck book is finished. Already, nearly 65 copies owed to early purchasers have been sent. Universally, the book has been met with enthusiastic approval, including very positive comments from creator Spencer Murray and Andy Southard.
Since you have indicated your interest in receiving information
on the Dream Truck, I am writing to offer the Dream Truck book to you as well as to bring you up to date with the status of the model segment of the project.
The Saga of Spencer Murray's Dream Truck, authored by Mark S. Gustavson and Bill Aitchison presents, for the first time, the genuine history of probably the most famous and fabled custom vehicle of all time. The hard cover book – hand assembled and inspected – features 218 black and white photos (plus dozens of additional photos in the 18 appendices), 26 color plates, 140 footnotes as well as a lengthy text which not only explains the history of the Truck, but also comments upon it. This book is based upon nearly five years of research, dozens of letters between author Gustavson and Spencer Murray, Kurt McCormick and Bruce Glascock, as well as a careful examination of over one hundred articles published on the Dream Truck. As well, there is a color photograph of the Truck that is affixed to the burgundy hardcover.
The scale model part of The Dream Truck Project is well underway. The final review of, and revisions to, the master body parts are underway in the shops of Mark S. Gustavson and Bill Aitchison. It is our goal, by July 2002, to send all the body parts to Don for casting. At the same time, Custom Styling Studio, LLC (a new aftermarket model car company catering to vintage custom and hot rod modelers) has started work on a multi-media, many-part detailing kit that will allow the motivated builder to construct an authentic scale replica of the Dream Truck. CSS has hired Cody Grayland (machining) and Bob Wick (photo etch artwork) to create the ultra detailing kit. Check back here for more details as they develop.

Hope to hear from you soon.
